Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By browsing MineRanks or using any of its features, you agree to these Terms. When you create an account, you will be asked to accept them expressly, together with the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

If you use MineRanks on behalf of a server, a server network, a company or another organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf, and “you” also refers to that organisation.

These Terms are available in English and Spanish. Both versions are equivalent, and you can read, save or print them from this page at any time.

2. What MineRanks is

MineRanks is a public directory and statistics website for Minecraft servers, covering both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition. For each listed server it shows information such as the number of players online, peaks and records, historical charts, the server icon, its message of the day (MOTD), the version it reports and, where available, its banners.

Player counts are obtained by querying each server approximately every five minutes with the same public status request that any Minecraft client sends to display a server in its server list. We also publish aggregated statistics (for example, on hosting providers, DDoS protection services, server software and versions) derived from publicly available technical information, such as DNS records, IP addresses and the network (ASN) they belong to, and each server’s status response. Part of the historical data comes from third-party public sources.

Anyone can browse MineRanks without an account. Some features, such as adding servers, require registration, and others are or may be reserved for a paid plan (see section 10).

3. Who can use MineRanks

Browsing MineRanks is open to everyone. To create an account you must be at least 14 years old. If you are under 14, you may only create an account with the consent of your parents or legal guardians, who will be responsible for your use of the service.

If you are a minor, we recommend that you read these Terms with your parents or guardians. Remember that each server listed on MineRanks has its own rules and may offer in-game purchases (see section 9).

You may not create an account if we have previously closed one of your accounts for a serious breach of these Terms, unless we have allowed you to do so.

4. Accounts and security

You can register with an email address and a password, or with Google Sign-In. If you register with email, you will choose a display name and a password, indicate whether you are a player or a server owner, and accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. The sign-up form includes an automatic check (Cloudflare Turnstile) to prevent automated registrations.

Accounts created with email must be confirmed through the link we send to that address, which expires after 24 hours. If you use Google Sign-In, we receive your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID, as explained in the Privacy Policy.

You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Your display name must not impersonate another person, server or brand, suggest that you belong to the MineRanks team, or be offensive or unlawful. We may ask you to change a display name that breaks these rules, or change it ourselves.

Registering as a server owner does not prove that you own or manage any particular server. We may ask you for reasonable proof before accepting changes to a listing.

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for the activity carried out from your account, unless it results from unauthorised access that is not your fault. We store passwords only in hashed form, never in plain text, so we cannot see or recover them; if you forget yours, you can request a reset link, which expires after one hour. If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, write to us immediately at [email protected].

Some accounts belong to members of the MineRanks team and have additional permissions to moderate listings and maintain the service. We will never ask you for your password.

You can stop using your account at any time and ask us to delete it by writing to [email protected] from the email address associated with it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use MineRanks lawfully, in good faith and in accordance with these Terms. In particular, you must not:

•Use bots, scrapers, crawlers or other automated means to access the service or extract data in a way that places a disproportionate load on it, circumvents its limits or seeks to copy all or a substantial part of its database, without our prior written permission. Search engine crawlers that follow standard indexing rules (such as robots.txt) are allowed.

•Attack or disrupt the service or its infrastructure, for example through denial-of-service attacks, attempts to exploit vulnerabilities, probing or scanning of our systems, or the introduction of malicious code.

•Try to bypass security measures, rate limits, anti-bot checks or access restrictions, including accessing staff features, other users’ accounts or paid features without authorisation.

•Impersonate another person, a server, a brand or the MineRanks team, or misrepresent your relationship with a server.

•Manipulate statistics or rankings, for example by adding fake servers, using bots or fake connections to inflate player counts, or configuring a server to report false figures.

•Create accounts in bulk or by automated means, or use accounts to send spam.

•Submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, hateful or sexually explicit, or that infringes the rights of others.

•Use MineRanks, or data obtained from it, to harass other people, send unsolicited communications or carry out any unlawful activity.

If you would like to use MineRanks data on a large scale (for example, for research or an integration), please write to [email protected] before you start.

6. Adding servers and managing listings

Registered users can suggest new servers through “Add server”. By submitting a server, you confirm that its address is correct and that the server is public or that you are authorised to list it.

Listings show the information that each server makes public, such as its name, icon, MOTD, version and player count, together with the statistics we calculate. Adding a server does not make you the owner of its listing or give you control over it, and we may decide not to publish a submission.

We may hide, correct, merge or remove listings, without prior notice where necessary, if we detect errors, duplicates, fake or unreachable servers, artificially inflated player counts or any other breach of these Terms. For example, servers reporting more than 100,000 players remain hidden until they have been verified manually.

If you own or manage a server listed on MineRanks, you can ask us to correct its information or remove its listing by writing to [email protected]. We may ask you for reasonable proof that you control the server. Please bear in mind that, while the server remains publicly accessible, some information about it may still be available from other sources, and that we may keep aggregated historical statistics that do not identify the server.

By submitting a server or any other content to MineRanks, you grant us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, reproduce, adapt (for example, by resizing images), display and publish it as part of MineRanks and to use it to promote the service, for as long as it is shown on the service and for the time it may reasonably remain in backups. This licence does not transfer ownership of any right to us.

Reporting content: if you believe that a listing or any other content on MineRanks is unlawful or infringes your rights, write to [email protected] with the URL, a clear explanation of your reasons and your contact details. We will review your notice diligently and let you know our decision.

7. Accuracy of the data

MineRanks collects data automatically and shows it as obtained, without being able to verify it fully. Player counts, records, versions and other information may be delayed, incomplete or inaccurate, for example when a server is offline, blocks or limits our requests, sits behind a proxy or intermediate network, reports figures that do not reflect reality, or when our systems are under maintenance or experience failures.

Aggregated statistics on hosting providers, DDoS protection, software or versions are inferred from technical data and may contain errors. Historical data from third-party sources may have gaps or inaccuracies that we cannot check. Some figures, such as estimated store sales, are approximations based on public information and are not official data.

Rankings and statistics are for information purposes only. They are not a recommendation, endorsement or assessment of the quality or safety of any server, and you should not rely on them as the only basis for commercial or financial decisions. 8. Intellectual property and trademarks

The MineRanks name and logo, the design of the website, its source code and texts, and the compilation of data, historical series and statistics that make up the service belong to MineRanks or its licensors and are protected by intellectual and industrial property laws, including the sui generis right that protects databases.

We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use MineRanks in accordance with these Terms. You may share or quote specific data from MineRanks (for example, a server’s player record) as long as you name MineRanks as the source and, where possible, include a link. Any other reproduction, distribution or reuse of substantial parts of the service requires our prior written permission.

Server names, logos, icons, banners, MOTDs and other distinctive signs shown on MineRanks belong to their respective owners. We display them only to identify and describe each server, based on the information that servers make public or that their owners provide to us. If you hold rights over any of them and object to their use, write to [email protected].

MineRanks is not an official Minecraft service and is not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang AB. Other trademarks mentioned belong to their respective owners.

9. Third-party servers and links

Listing a server on MineRanks does not mean that we operate, control, endorse or guarantee it. Each server has its own rules, terms and privacy policy and, in many cases, in-game purchases or its own store. We are not responsible for the content, availability, security or conduct of servers, their staff or their players, or for purchases made on them.

You join servers at your own risk. Before connecting or paying, check the server’s rules and conditions; any complaint or dispute about a server must be addressed to the people who run it. If you are a minor, ask your parents or guardians before spending money on any server.

MineRanks may include links to third-party websites, stores, communities or services (such as a server’s website or Discord). These are governed by their own terms and policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. If you sign in with Google, your use of that service is governed by Google’s terms.

10. Paid features

Some features are, or will be, reserved for a paid plan called Pro, such as the sales statistics of certain servers’ stores. MineRanks does not currently offer any payment method or charge for any feature.

If we introduce paid plans, before you purchase we will clearly show you the price, applicable taxes, billing period, renewal and cancellation conditions and any additional terms that apply, which you will need to accept expressly. Where the law grants you, as a consumer, a right of withdrawal, we will explain how to exercise it and when it does not apply.

The content of free and paid features may change over time. We will give you advance notice of any change affecting a plan you have paid for, in accordance with its conditions.

11. Suspension and termination

You can stop using MineRanks at any time and ask us to delete your account by writing to [email protected].

We may restrict, suspend or close your account, or hide or remove content you have submitted, if you breach these Terms, if the law or a competent authority requires it, or where necessary to protect the service, other users or third parties. Our response will be proportionate to the seriousness of the breach.

When we restrict your account or your content, we will tell you why, unless the law prevents us from doing so or it would compromise security or an investigation. If you disagree with our decision, you can reply to [email protected] and we will review it.

Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should continue to apply after an account is closed (such as those on intellectual property, liability and governing law) will remain in force.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

MineRanks is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep it available, secure and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will operate without interruptions or errors, that the data will be complete, accurate or up to date, or that the service will be free of viruses or other harmful components.

We may temporarily interrupt the service for maintenance, updates, security reasons or causes beyond our control.

Nothing in these Terms affects the rights and guarantees that the law grants you as a consumer and that cannot be waived.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, MineRanks will not be liable for:

•Decisions you make or actions you take based on the data shown on the service.

•Damage arising from the use of third-party servers, websites or services, including purchases made on them.

•Interruptions, errors or unavailability of the service, or loss of data, caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

•Indirect or consequential damage, such as loss of profits, revenue, business opportunities or reputation.

If you use MineRanks for business or professional purposes, our total liability to you for all claims relating to the service will be limited to the greater of one hundred euros (€100) and the amounts you have paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

None of the above limits or excludes our liability for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for death or personal injury, or in any other case where the law does not allow it to be limited or excluded, nor does it restrict the rights that consumer protection law grants you.

You are responsible, in accordance with the law, for any damage you cause to MineRanks or to third parties by breaching these Terms or using the service unlawfully.

14. Changes to the service and to these Terms

MineRanks is an evolving service. We may add, change or withdraw features and change how data is displayed or calculated, provided that this does not unjustifiably harm your rights. We may also stop providing the service, giving reasonable notice where possible.

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the service, in the law or in our practices. We will publish the new version on this page with its update date and, if the changes are significant, we will notify registered users by email or through a notice on the website before they take effect. Where required, we will ask you to accept them again. If you do not agree with the new Terms, you can stop using the service and delete your account.

15. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you habitually reside.

If you are a consumer, you may bring any claim before the courts of your place of residence or any other court that has jurisdiction under the law. If you are not a consumer, the parties submit to the courts of the place in Spain where the operator of MineRanks is domiciled.

Before going to court, we encourage you to write to [email protected] so that we can try to resolve the matter amicably.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, the remaining provisions will continue to apply. Our failure to enforce a right or provision at any given time does not mean that we waive it.
