How much do Minecraft servers make?
It depends on two things: how many players a server has and how well it turns them into buyers. A typical purchase in a server store is around €6. The cheapest rank usually costs €4.30 and the most expensive one about €50. To compare servers of any size we use revenue per peak player (RPP): it puts a 100-player server and a 5,000-player network on the same scale.
- Why the peak: it is the player count on every server page, so you can compare any server.
- Why a month: daily sales swing a lot; a full month smooths out updates and events.
- Gross store revenue: before taxes, payment fees and store platform fees.

Example: a server with 500 players at its daily peak that makes €5,000 in a month has an RPP of €10.

How we estimate it
All figures are MineRanks estimates, aggregated and anonymous, in gross euros before taxes and fees. This page never shows revenue for individual servers (that is only in Pro). Only servers with enough stable data are included, and exceptional days such as season launches are smoothed out. Not appearing in the ranking does not mean converting poorly. Updated every month.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a Minecraft server make per month?
It depends on its players and how well it turns them into buyers. A typical purchase is around €6. Ranks go from about €4.30 for the cheapest to about €50 for the most expensive. To compare servers of different sizes we use revenue per peak player (RPP).
What is revenue per peak player (RPP)?
Monthly store revenue divided by the average daily peak of players. It lets you compare a 100-player server with a 5,000-player network: an RPP of €10 means €10 a month for every player in the daily peak.
How do Minecraft servers make money?
Mostly through their store: ranks, in-game currency, keys and crates, items and cosmetics. A big share comes from a few players: the top 10% of buyers bring in about 41% of the money. Some also charge for access or a monthly subscription.
How much should a rank cost on my server?
The usual setup is an entry rank of about €4.30 and a ladder up to about €50 for the top rank. More than the price, each step needs a clear reason to upgrade.
When do players spend the most?
On weekends: about 31% more than on weekdays. A good moment to launch sales and seasons.
Is running a Minecraft server profitable?
It can be if it has a community: costs go from a few euros a month for a small server to thousands for a large network with several servers, protection and staff. Store platforms charge around 5% plus the payment gateway. What makes the difference is converting the players you already have.
What can you sell on a Minecraft server according to the EULA?
Under the Minecraft Usage Guidelines you can charge for access (the same price for everyone), sell cosmetics, ranks with no gameplay advantage, in-game currency with no value outside the game and crates with the odds shown. Selling advantages over other players, NFTs and play-to-earn are banned.
How much does Hypixel make?
Hypixel does not publish its revenue. In 2015 it was revealed that running the server cost around $100,000 a month, and its record is 216,000 players at once in April 2021. Its live player count is on its MineRanks page.
How much is a Minecraft server worth?
When servers change hands, the price is usually a multiple of monthly profit (not revenue), but it depends on the community, the brand and how much the server relies on its owner. Month-by-month revenue of servers with a tracked store is in MineRanks Pro.
Can I see how much a specific server makes?
Yes, in MineRanks Pro: daily, monthly and yearly revenue of every server with a tracked store, its best-selling packages and its top spenders. It costs €19.99 a month, or €16.58 a month on the yearly plan.
